1.8.9 is still the home of competitive Minecraft PvP. Velora gives you the classic combat with modern PvP mods built in, so you can focus on your aim, not your setup.
The version PvP
never left.
In Minecraft 1.9, Mojang added an attack cooldown: you have to wait for your weapon to recharge between hits. On 1.8.9 there's no cooldown, so combat is about clicking speed, aim, strafing and combos.
That's why most PvP servers, Bedwars, Skywars and Duels players still play on 1.8.9, and why Velora supports it alongside the newest 1.21.11.

Toggle Sprint & Sneak
Sprint and sneak stay on without holding a key, so your fingers are free for strafing.
Hit Fix
A fix for 1.8.9's well-known hit registration delay, for more consistent combat.
Reach & Combo
Reach Display shows the distance of your hits. Combo Counter tracks how many hits you land in a row.
No Hurt Cam
Removes the screen shake when you take damage, so you never lose sight of your opponent.
Keystrokes & CPS
See your inputs and clicks per second on screen. Perfect for practising and for recordings.
Armor & Potions
Armor Status and Potion Effects show durability and timers, so you know when to retreat.

Higher, steadier FPS makes tracking a target easier. Velora turns on its performance settings from the first launch and includes Borderless Fullscreen and Fullbright.

1.8.9 questions
Why do PvP players still use 1.8.9?
Minecraft 1.9 added an attack cooldown, which changed combat completely. In 1.8.9 you can attack as fast as you click, so many PvP players and servers still prefer it.
Can I also play newer versions?
Yes. Velora supports both 1.8.9 and 1.21.11. You switch versions in the launcher before pressing Play.
Do I need to install Forge or OptiFine?
No. Velora's mods and performance settings are built in, so there's nothing extra to install.
Is Velora a hacked client?
No. Velora has no cheats. It's a client with quality-of-life, HUD and performance mods. Always follow the rules of the server you play on.
