01Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Velora ("Velora", "we", "us"). They apply to the website at veloraclient.com, the Velora launcher and client, and any related services we run, such as friends, chat, voice chat and cosmetics (together, the "Service").

By downloading, installing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

02Who can use Velora

You need a legitimate Microsoft account that owns Minecraft: Java Edition. You must follow the age rules of Microsoft and Mojang for that account.

If you are under 16, or under the age of digital consent where you live, you may only use the Service with permission from a parent or guardian, who also agrees to these Terms on your behalf.

03Your licence to use Velora

Velora is free. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to download and use the Service for your own non-commercial use, as long as you follow these Terms.

You may not:

  • sell, rent, sublicense or redistribute the launcher or client, or offer it as part of another product;
  • copy, decompile, reverse engineer or modify the Service, except where the law explicitly allows it;
  • remove or change any copyright, trademark or other notices;
  • use the Service, or any part of it, to build a competing product.

We own the Service and all rights in it, including the Velora name, logo, designs and code. Nothing in these Terms gives you ownership of any of it.

04Minecraft, Mojang and Microsoft

Velora is an independent project. It is not an official Minecraft product and is not approved by or associated with Mojang or Microsoft.

Minecraft is a trademark of Mojang. Your use of Minecraft is governed by the Minecraft EULA and Microsoft's terms, which still apply when you play through Velora. You sign in through Microsoft's own login page. We never see or store your Microsoft password.

05Your account

Some features, such as friends, chat, voice chat and cosmetics, are tied to your Minecraft account. You are responsible for everything that happens on your account in Velora, and for keeping your computer and Microsoft account secure.

Tell us right away if you think someone else is using your account.

06Acceptable use

When you use the Service, you agree not to:

  • harass, threaten, bully or abuse other people, or post hateful, sexual or otherwise harmful content in chat, voice chat, usernames or skins;
  • impersonate other people, including Velora staff;
  • spam, advertise, scam or share malicious links or files;
  • try to get unauthorised access to the Service, our servers or other players' accounts;
  • interfere with or disrupt the Service, for example by overloading our servers or using bots;
  • use the Service to cheat, or modify it to give yourself an unfair advantage;
  • break any law, or the rules of the servers you play on.

Servers and bans

Servers such as Hypixel have their own rules about which mods are allowed. You are responsible for following those rules. We are not responsible if a server warns, mutes or bans you.

07Your content

You keep ownership of anything you create or share through the Service, such as chat messages, skins and profile details ("Your Content").

You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, send and display Your Content only as far as we need to run the Service. For example, we need to send your chat message to your friend. This licence ends when you delete Your Content or your account, except where we have to keep it by law or for safety reasons.

We may remove content or limit features for anyone who breaks these Terms.

08Cosmetics

Cosmetics, emotes and similar items are only for use inside the Service. They have no real-world money value, cannot be exchanged for money, and are a licence to use, not something you own.

If we ever offer paid items, the price, payment terms and any refund rights will be shown before you buy. Nothing in these Terms limits the rights you have under consumer law where you live.

09Third-party services

The Service connects with other services, such as Microsoft, Minecraft servers, Spotify and Discord. Those services are run by other companies under their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for them, and connecting them is your choice.

10Updates and changes to the Service

We regularly update the Service to fix bugs, improve security and add or remove features. Some updates install automatically. We may change, pause or stop any part of the Service at any time. We will try to give notice of big changes, for example in our Discord.

11Suspension and termination

You can stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling it. To have your data deleted as well, see our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or end your access, fully or partly, if you break these Terms, if the law requires it, or if your use puts other players or the Service at risk. Where it is reasonable, we will tell you why.

The sections about ownership, disclaimers, liability and governing law still apply after your access ends.

12Disclaimer

Velora is a free project. As far as the law allows, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, including warranties that it will be error-free, uninterrupted, secure or fit for a particular purpose.

Keep backups of your Minecraft worlds and settings. Mods and updates can sometimes cause crashes or data loss.

13Limitation of liability

As far as the law allows, Velora is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, lost data, lost profits, or bans or penalties from third-party servers that come from your use of the Service.

Because the Service is free, our total liability to you for any claim about the Service is limited to €50.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for intent or gross negligence, or any liability that cannot be limited by law.

14Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Disputes go to the competent court in the Netherlands.

If you are a consumer living in the EU, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your own country, and you may bring a claim in your local courts.

15Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when they last changed. If a change is important, we will tell you in the launcher or in our Discord before it takes effect. If you keep using the Service after a change takes effect, you accept the new Terms.
